Newsletters are a perfect platform for reaching lots of people

Amelie Jensen was marketing assistant at Hemmabutikerna's head office, and worked with Paloma's newsletter tool in 2011. < /p>

– I built the newsletter with Paloma's flexible tool. We have used it in our campaigns, major events and topical competitions. The content is very much based on our customer magazine, says Amelie Jensen.

Hemmabutikerna have collected the addresses by getting visitors to the website to register. Sponsorship of Sweden's largest sporting event for women, Tjejmilen, where participants were asked if they wanted to register as subscribers, also helped in this process.

– We have had very good visitor numbers for our newsletter. Most noticeable has been the great increase in participation on our Facebook page when the newsletter comes out. Our competitions have also attracted many visitors to our website.

Amelie believes that it's important to give careful consideration to the content when mailing directly to customers. Amongst other things, it is important not to be too verbose, and to consider using images rather than text. The message should be direct and clear.

– Newsletters are a great platform for reaching out to many people at the same time. But it's important that the message stands out and there is clarity in your communication. You can't expect the subscribers to read it if you're not making the effort. You have a few seconds to capture the interest of email-readers, says Amelie Jensen.

Amelie is also pleased with the usability of the tool when creating the newsletter. It's easy and intuitive to do the layout yourself.

– If you're not used to making newsletters, Paloma is a great tool. And the Paloma team gives very good support when you get stuck.
